Description

Use cunning engineers to build ingenious, deadly machines and towers!

Each player will be able to build towers (these are located between wall sections) and place chosen war machines on them. There are three varieties of war machines: cannons, missile batteries and powerful siege crossbows.

In addition, each player gets a few upgrade cards to choose from, adding even more variety to the war machines. For example, one player may prefer to build multiple cheap cannons, while another player goes for a single strong one.

Mongols brought siege engines! Some Hordes cards come with the special abilities of trying to break your walls. Defend yourself against battering rams, which will break your walls, catapults that will strike your archers, and Hordes with siege towers that will change the way you plan your defenses. They will try to counter your towers and hire miners to tear them down.

New Hordes will add to the replayability while also being usable in base games.

Each clan also sends out its elite warriors to join the battle - all clans have their own unique and extremely powerful soldier! You can upgrade one of your standard Soldier types to an elite. For example, the Snake Clan will upgrade their archers to Chu-Ko-Nu crossbowmen so they can quickly defeat any opponent. On the other hand, the Dragon Clan will equip some of their spearmen with fire lances. Rest assured they won't be cheap, but if you can recruit them early in the game you'll gain a huge advantage over the Hordes (and your opponents).

This expansion also brings new generals, advisors and artifacts to further improve replayability and allow for more customization of your desired tactics.

Additionally, this expansion introduces Tech-Trees that create new exciting development opportunities for each clan. With those cards you can adjust your strategy and invest in towers, war machines or improved army units!
