Similo is a fun, accessible card game for in between, where all players cooperatively try to guess the character chosen in advance by the game leader. The chosen character is among the 12 cards on the table. No speaking is allowed and the game leader uses cards with other characters from his hand as clues. By laying out cards in a certain way, he indicates whether the characters have similarities or are different from each other. The other players must work together to interpret the clue as best as possible.
Players will therefore have to carefully consider what the characters have in common or how they differ. Because what exactly the game leader is referring to with his hint remains a secret. Is it appearance, character, era, origin, profession, contribution to history or Nobel Prizes that are being referred to? Perhaps a number of biographies have been made into films or are there characters who have died a tragic death? The possibilities are endless! Knowledge, but also creativity plays an important role here.
Based on the instructions, players must eliminate the characters on the table one or more at a time until only the correct character remains on the table. The players must regularly think out of the box to correctly interpret the clues. If they fail to guess the correct character at the end of the game, or if they are eliminated from the game early, all players lose together as a team.
Similo: Fairy Tales can also be combined with versions with a different theme, such as Similo: History. Players can use different theme decks together or even place one deck on the table and give instructions with another deck. For example, Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, like Abraham Lincoln, is of American descent, and Prince Charming and Princess Sissi both have a royal title.
Similo is a fun game for the whole family, but also to play as a couple. Its small size makes it easy to travel with and because the characters are known worldwide, it can be easily and fun played anywhere in the world.
The Games Friends: “Similo is such a great game for a quick snack. You play a game in 10 minutes, but still have the feeling that you have completed a full game. Highly recommended for fans of Dixit, Mysterium and Obscurio!"
