After a series of catastrophes left civilization in ruins, societies across the world are rebuilding, this time in harmony with nature. Scotland lies in ruins, and the ancient clans have taken it upon themselves to restore the land. As clan leaders, players compete for strategic control of the territory by rebuilding prestigious castles. Rebirth is a tile-laying game by Reiner Knizia that revitalizes this classic genre by combining smooth gameplay with beautiful artwork. The result is a eurogame with simple gameplay, yet plenty of strategic depth. Each turn, players draw a tile from their supply and place it on the board. The tiles represent their clan's contribution to the rebuilding of the land. Rebirth rewards foresight and clever tactical choices, with decisions becoming increasingly challenging as the game progresses. Product Photos:Boardgame Pictures

In this well-known laying game, the players jointly build the French city of Carcassonne with all its roads, towns, monasteries and meadows. By deploying serfs they score points for completed projects. Each turn you place one land tile and you may place one follower on it. Which type it is depends on the tile. There are tiles with road sections, monasteries, city districts and/or meadow sections. In principle, there may not be more than one follower on a project, but if two unfinished parts are built together, it can still happen that more followers end up on them. Whoever has the most followers on a completed project immediately receives points. Different rules apply to the number of points to be received for each type of project. The game ends when all tiles have been placed. Whoever has the most points wins. Carcassonne is loved by both families and experienced players because it has sufficient depth despite the simple rules. The touch of luck gives everyone the opportunity to participate in the win until the end. The Games Friends: “ Carcassonne is of course a classic and we completely understand why. During Carcassonne you can relax and try to create the most beautiful landscape possible, while of course trying to outdo your opponent(s). Due to the many expansions, a game of Carcassonne is never the same and you can make the game as extensive as you want. Indispensable in every games cupboard!"

In Can't Stop, players try their luck with dice and tactically choose dice combinations to be the first to close three columns. The board has one column for each possible total of two six-sided dice, but the number of squares in each column varies: the more likely a total, the more squares in that column and the more rolls required to complete it. On a player's turn, he rolls four dice and arranges them in pairs: 1 4 5 6 can become 1+4 and 5+6 for 5 & 11, 1+5 and 4+6 for 6 & 10, or 1 +6 and 4+5 for 7 & 9. The player places or moves progress markers in the open column(s) associated with his chosen totals and then chooses whether to roll again or end his turn. Dare and courage are needed to gain the necessary lead over your opponents, but overconfidence is immediately punished... Will your mountain climbers be the first to reach 3 mountain peaks?
