The Rebel Alliance fights bravely against the tyranny of the Galactic Empire. Each new victory gives the rebels hope and each heroic sacrifice strengthens their resolve. Yet the Empire's resources are vast and the firepower of its Navy is unparalleled. With neither side willing to accept defeat, their war rages across the galaxy... In Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game, a two-player head-to-head game, the galaxy-spanning war between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance comes to life on your tabletop. In this easy-to-learn game, you and your opponent each choose a side, playing as the Empire or the Rebels, and as the game progresses you both strengthen the power of your starting cards and work to destroy each other's bases. The first player to destroy three of his opponent's bases wins. In more detail, each player starts with a unique deck of ten cards, with seven of those cards only providing means to acquire new cards. Six cards from a galaxy deck are always visible, with Rebel cards facing the Rebel player, Empire cards facing the Empire player, and Neutral cards facing aside. You can spend resources to acquire cards in the galaxy row that don't belong to the opponent, and you can use attack power to eliminate cards that do belong to them, earning a reward in the process. Each player starts with a base that has no abilities (Dantooine for the Rebels and Lothal for the Empire), but when that base is destroyed you get to choose a replacement from your base deck, with each base having a special ability. Choose wisely to counter your opponent's plans! In addition to having special abilities, capital ships absorb damage intended for your base. Players also fight for control of a Force track to gain additional resources or use "If the Force is with you..." abilities on their cards.

It is the late 18th century, the time of the Industrial Revolution in Scotland. By building the largest seaport, the village of Glasgow has quickly been transformed into one of the most important trading cities in Europe. In this 2-player game your task is to build 16 new buildings to prepare Glasgow for the modern age. Each building earns points and the player with the most points wins the game. Players move through the city to collect resources, perform special actions and, above all, build buildings. Before the game, tiles with city residents on them are placed in a circle on the table. These residents offer resources such as brick, steel or money with which buildings can be built or allow you to perform a special action. Both players build one city together. Once the sixteenth building is constructed, the game ends and players score points for what they built. It is up to the players to determine the tactics with which they think they can score the most points.

In Stay Cool, your fellow players bombard you with questions and the player who answers the most questions wins. These are absolutely not difficult questions that require in-depth knowledge. There are everyday questions, personal questions, but also agility or speed assignments. If you are a bit astute or resourceful, you will have no problem answering the questions quickly. Sure, there's a timer running, but nothing else to worry about, right? The challenge of the game is that two people ask you questions at the same time! You also have to answer them in two different ways. Answer your left neighbor's question out loud while you "write down" the answer to your right neighbor's question by spelling out dice with the letters on them. While you do this, another player will set a 30-second hourglass four times, giving you a total of two minutes to answer as many questions as possible. At the end of that time, multiply the number of correct answers you gave to the questions from the left and right together to determine your score. The winner is the one who answers the most questions correctly in 3 rounds and thus scores the most points. You can play this party game with 3 to 7 players. Perfect for a fun evening of multitasking with friends or family. The Games Friends: "You have to be quite stress-resistant to win Stay Cool, but it is still a lot of fun to do. During the game you often lose the overview, but you still have to keep going and try to answer as many questions as possible. Highly recommended for the right group!"

In Spectacular you are busy creating and developing your own zoo for vulnerable species. In order to preserve the species, you must ensure that breeding takes place within each habitat. During the game, you select animal tiles and dice, with the dice representing the food for the animals. The color of the dice must match the habitat color of the animal tiles. Each turn requires crucial decisions, where you must consider whether to choose a die of a certain value or to secure an animal tile that may no longer be available. At the end of the game, you score points for each area of connected tiles of the same habitat, based on the sum of your dice of that color. However, points are only awarded if dice with values of 1 or 2 are placed on certain “family” tiles within the habitat! During the game, you also build lookout towers, which earn you points for all three dice adjacent to them. To make your park even more spectacular, you also try to collect as many different species as possible, with increasing points for more variety. The player with the most points wins the game. After a few games you can challenge yourself by playing with three (out of 18) mission tiles. While they offer the opportunity for a higher score, they also increase the difficulty of the puzzle. Spectacular offers simultaneous play and allows for interaction between players, as your opponents’ decisions will affect which tiles and dice are available to you. The game also comes with asymmetrical player boards (on the back). Spectacular offers simple rules, quick setup, short playing time, engaging puzzles and can be played by 1 to 6 players with little waiting time, even with a larger number of players.

In the 16th century, Russia began to expand eastward to develop the vast areas of Siberia. This stage in history is closely associated with the name "Stroganov". In the game Stroganov, players try to collect the best furs to gain wealth and fame as they travel across the vastness of Siberia. They will travel through Siberia in the spring, summer and autumn before returning home each winter. After four years (rounds), the player who has used his actions the best and collected the most victory points wins. Every year the players must move east through the landscape. They can spend horses if they want to travel further. Once they have progressed, they can take a basic action such as trading or collecting furs or coins. Finally, they can take more advanced actions such as visiting a village, setting up a yurt, accepting a Tsar's wish (map), setting up a hunting lodge, or purchasing a landscape field. All of these actions - combined with exploration and some story telling along the way - earn players victory points at the end of the game. Every winter, players return to Tyumen to prepare for a new year. After four years, the game ends, with players scoring victory points based on collecting the correct landscape tiles, fulfilling the Tsar's wishes, building hunting lodges, collecting furs, and more. The Games Friends: Stroganov looks beautiful and has a pretty unique theme. The actions are not too complicated, but the choice of symbols sometimes makes it feel more difficult than it actually is. Due to the changing tiles on the board, there is sufficient variation, but despite this, this game will not be on the table every week due to the enormous competition from other games in this genre. But, definitely recommended to try!
