In Octobuns bedien jij hongerige gasten met verse ingrediënten en luxe broodjes, om zo te voldoen aan de gevraagde bestelling. Verzamel de juiste ingrediënten, maak hier heerlijke broodjes van en voltooi op deze manier de bestellingen van de havengasten. Zorg er wel voor dat ze in de juiste volgorde aangeleverd worden, anders lusten je gasten het niet. Voor elke voltooide bestelling krijg je munten, welke je naar de overwinning van meest succesvolle octopus zullen leiden!Het doel van Octobuns is zo snel mogelijk bestellingen voltooien, zodra iemand 5 bestellingen heeft voltooid is dit het einde van het spel. Als de spelers aan de beurt zijn, kunnen deze kiezen uit vier verschillende acties en hier één van uitvoeren.Als eerste optie kan een speler een ingrediënt uit de markt in het midden van de tafel pakken en deze aan de eigen bakkerij toevoegen. Pak je een ingrediënt waarmee je met een al aanwezig ingrediënt in je bakkerij een broodje kan maken? Dan mag je deze samenvoegen en het broodje aan je bakkerij toevoegen op de plek van deze ingrediënten. Een andere actie is een van de havengasten naar je toe te lokken. Je reserveert hiermee deze gast voor jou alleen, de andere spelers kunnen deze gast niet meer bedienen. Zo kan je rustig alle ingrediënten verzamelen die nodig zijn zonder dat je bang hoeft te zijn dat de havengast door iemand anders ingepikt wordt.Mis je net dat ene ingrediënt voor een bestelling en ligt deze ook niet in de markt? Dan kan je als actie er ook voor kiezen om een van je broodjes in te leveren en dit ingrediënt uit de aflegstapel te halen. De ruimte in je bakkerij is beperkt, en soms kan het voorkomen dat er te veel ingrediënten en broodjes in je grid van 3x3 liggen. Als laatste actie kan je ingrediënten uit je bakkerij te verschuiven of te verwijderen, en op die manier ruimte te maken voor de bestellingen van de havengasten.Heb je de juiste ingrediënten in de juiste volgorde in je bakkerij voor een bestelling? Dan mag je deze na het uitvoeren van de actie in je beurt voltooien. Hiervoor krijg je niet alleen munten, maar vaak ook nog een bonus actie die je op een later moment kan gebruiken. Zodra iemand 5 bestellingen heeft voltooid, eindigt het spel en de speler met de meeste munten, wint het spel!
