Once a mere fishing village, Yokohama blossomed into a port city at the beginning of the Meiji era, opening its doors to foreign trade and developing into one of Japan's most important trading centers. Japanese products such as copper and raw silk were gathered in Yokohama in large quantities for export. At the same time, the city embraced foreign technology and culture, and even the streetscape underwent a modern transformation.

In YOKOHAMA, players take on the role of a merchant in the Meiji period, aiming to achieve fame and success through a thriving business. To achieve this, they must build shops, expand their sales network, master various techniques, and—of course—respond to foreign trade orders. Every choice contributes to the growth of their empire and determines who becomes Yokohama's most influential merchant.
