On these islands they can recreate all the deadly conditions their soldiers might encounter on remote planets.

To finance these expensive programs and the military innovations built into their test subjects, the weapons manufacturers have teamed up with media moguls to create live broadcast matches from the islands' training grounds. Thus was born "Reload", the biggest TV show in the world, featuring the most charismatic and capable individuals competing in front of millions of enthusiastic viewers to win fame for themselves and fortunes for their creators.
