Grab your pickaxe and gold pan, explore the land, and invest in the richest mines to collect as much gold as possible.

Gold Country is a new strategy game about the California Gold Rush, designed by Reiner Knizia and beautifully illustrated by Beth Sobel. Its design is inspired by a cult classic from Knizia called Spectaculum, but has been thoroughly developed by Reiner Knizia — in close cooperation with Bitewing Games — into the ultimate game about stock trading and market manipulation. You’ll find a completely redeveloped core game, entirely new cards, exciting tactical abilities, and the lush landscapes of California.

In each turn, you'll develop mining companies, buy and sell shares of those companies, spend money on powerful ability cards, and more. Gold Country creates shared interests, encourages tactical adjustments, and rewards strategic foresight, with simple rules and challenging decisions. The game ends as soon as all gold veins have been discovered; then, the richest player wins.
