Travel editions of board games
Travel games are usually small versions of board games. Ideal, because you can also take your favorite board games and card games with you on holiday. Consider, for example, the Monopoly travel game , the backgammon travel edition , the Qwirkle travel edition or the Catan travel edition ! They are the board games as you know them, but in a small version and with conveniently hidden compartments, so that you can store the loose parts properly. Ideal! But did you know that many 'normal' board games are also perfect for holidays?
And to be honest, we think those board games are much nicer to take with us on holiday. Simply because travel editions are often more limited. (Or we are just too clumsy for small parts, that could also be the case.)
Travel games at the campsite
As you can see, we know how to use the space in our own van when we go camping. All that puzzling while playing board games has made us master packers. We can easily fit about 25 games into our van. (We could of course reveal that we have a fairly large van, but we'd rather leave you with the illusion that you can't compete with us in a puzzle game.)
Tip: adhesive tape
Now we could say that we have the most great tips for camping, but as you can see, we don't care about them. We have two camping tables instead of one and play almost all the board games on them! What if we had to share one tip? Bring tape! You can tape your score sheet (from your dice game or roll & write ) to the table!
Travel games on the plane
But... we also like to travel by plane and - believe it or not - we often travel with hand luggage only. Yes, even if we go to America for three weeks. (To answer your question straight away: every hotel there has a washing machine.) Are you starting to believe that we are master packers? We thought so.
The trick: take out your board games
What's our secret? We unpack our board games and combine where we can! We take one large packing cube (fancy word for travel bag with a zipper) and everything goes in there. Are you taking multiple dice games with you? Only take the dice blocks and dice with you. Even better: laminate a dice sheet and use whiteboard markers. Card game? Choose the cards you need and put them in a deck box .
Leave your escape room behind on holiday
Even better: leave your board game there again! We always take a home escape room with us on holiday. There is always a rainy day or evening and then an escape room game is perfect! Our favorite escape room games to take with you are the EXIT escape room games from 999 Games . The boxes of the EXIT games are very small and your escape room game will break while playing. You have to write on the material and cut things up to get to the right answers.
In short: once you've finished it, it's ready to go! Will you save space in your suitcase on the way back (because admit it: on the way back there always seems to be a lot more in that suitcase than on the outward journey?).
