To overcome these challenges, your character develops along several conflicting lines, such as Brutality/Empathy or Practicality/Spirituality. These traits unlock a rich choice of mutually exclusive skills and lead to different deck-building strategies, making character development meaningful and deep. The character you develop will be tested through dozens of combat and non-combat encounters. Sometimes you have to use brute force, but often diplomacy is a better option. Whether you fight with your strength or your wits, the unique dice-less encounter system makes resolving each conflict fun and exciting while keeping you immersed in the game. In Avalon, a legend awaits behind every stone and every tree. All locations have their own rich stories and secrets to discover. Places and characters are often much more than they seem. With the Red Death add-on campaign you now have another option. You can play it after completing one of the other three major campaigns and take your favorite heroes on a final, one-way mission to mysterious Homelands. Their ship will slip into the mist that separates Avalon from our reality, and spend many weeks crossing the border between the worlds. Red Death is an expert level expansion campaign for Tainted Grail. It contains 32 dangerous location cards that allow you to visit part of a plague-ravaged kingdom, where unspeakable horrors still lurk among the ruins. These horrors won't be your only problem! The ancient undersea empire of Fomoria surveys all the lands abandoned by humans, while brutal Picts from the north, who have somehow built up resistance to the disease, plunder the ruins in search of treasure, magic - and something more sinister . Then there are lone survivors who survived the plague. They are often angry and dangerous, but their knowledge can help heroes survive. Choose your allies and enemies, solve difficult riddles, navigate ancient world ruins, and take on some of the toughest encounters created for Tainted Grail. Create a second home with this camp for your characters. This miniature can be expanded in different phases. The first stage is just a campfire with some sharp poles to ward off dangers. In Kings of Ruin it increases your Terror regeneration during the night and can be upgraded to the second phase with an Action. The second phase adds many important camp supplies, such as stew, provisions, medicinal herbs, and even musical instruments. In addition to the effects of the first phase, it also increases Health regeneration in Kings of Ruin. Of course you can upgrade it to the third state with an Action. Finally, the third phase of the camp adds some shelter, secured by runes and wyrd candles. As expected, this final stage provides protection against the Wyrdness in Kings of Ruin, aiding players in deeper explorations of the wyrd-covered side of the map, or allowing them to better survive if for some reason all beacons are extinguished are. Since Location Cards in Tainted Grail: Kings of Ruin are only removed when you travel from one major part of the island to another, the camp remains in the same state until you decide to tear it down. But because taking it to the final stage requires significant investment, it is advisable to be sure where you want to build it. And remember, an unguarded camp can be destroyed or plundered by wandering guards!
