There are three varieties of war machines: cannons, missile batteries and powerful siege crossbows. In addition, each player gets a few upgrade cards to choose from, adding even more variety to the war machines. For example, one player may prefer to build multiple cheap cannons, while another player goes for a single strong one. Mongols brought siege engines! Some Hordes cards come with the special abilities of trying to break your walls.
